Outdoor Soccer 2024

Fraser is proud to offer a grassroots soccer program in partnership with other communities in Northeast Edmonton. There are numerous benefits this program will bring to our community, our parents and most importantly our children. The program focuses on player development and providing a low stress, high fun environment at a significantly REDUCED price point.

Some of the benefits to joining Community Grassroots Soccer Academy (CGSA) are:

  • Fair and reasonable fees: Our grassroots program will see a significantly lower per player cost than traditional programs.
  • A longer outdoor season: Our season will go from early May until the end of July, allowing children less games per week and more practices and skill learning.
  • Volunteer run and community driven program: benefits stay in our community.
  • Smaller roster sizes: allowing for more playing time per child.
  • The ability to participate in CGSA clinics for coaches and players.
  • CGSA programs are for all ages.

Registration process - please see How to Register for those steps. We hope to see you all at Fraser Registrations and look forward to your enthusiastic participation in this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that some questions have arisen from this decision to change our program and we hope to clear up some of those concerns:

1. Will our coaches be screened?

All of our coaches will undergo police checks including vulnerable sectors checks at no expense to them

2. Will we have insurance?

Fraser is committed to ensuring our insurance is in place to protect players and teams at no added expense to the teams

3. Are we doing this to make a profit?

CGSA is run by each community league which are not for profit organizations.  Fees collected through registration STAY in our community.

4. What if there are not enough kids to make a team?

We have committed to and with other leagues playing grassroots soccer this season to share players as needed and help each other fill teams. Your child will be on a team.

5. Will we have fields?  What about referees?

Yes we will.  We will have rinks lined as fields for the younger age groups and we have the same access to city fields and greenspaces. We will utilize coach referees in younger groups and volunteer referees for older groups.

6. Will you offer refunds? What if this grassroots fails?

We recognize that with every new opportunity comes risks. We are committed to ensuring the success of the program. We will offer refunds and do have a refund policy in place to protect parents.

6. Does the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues(EFCL) support this program?

EFCL has made it clear to the community leagues that they support us in our efforts

“We want to make it very clear that EFCL is here to support Community Leagues as they provide programs to their members and community. This is our primary role.”
